Merong Mahawangsa...Macam mana segah namanya begitulah juga segah filemnya...Thumbs up for KRU production kerana berjaya menerbitkan sebuah filem epik yang sangat berkualiti dan bagus. Sebelum filem ni keluar aku dan kawan-kawan dah macam tak sabar untuk menonton filem ni sebab trailer die sangat best! Dah lama rasenya tak menonton wayang bersama kawan-kawan.. asyik tgk dgn cik abg je... nie pun kene pujuk baru dpt kebenaran... sbb tu pun hari sabtu ade BRAIN. Ade sebab tak payah balik. Then ahad boleh get together dgn rumet2 yang class gitu..~ Never once in our degree life kitorang pegi tgk wayang sama... Throughout this three years inilah first time kami tgk wayang sama2 and hopefully this is not our last time.. Sebut pasal BRAIN. aku rase sangat bangga dgn Gen 7 Batch 0812 di atas kejayaan program ini. Banyak lecturer yang memuji... Hehehe.. memang batch ni batch yg best! i'm very grateful to be part of this batch. Dan Geng Health Check up..You guys rock!! Lebih2 lagi team 1...hahaha...
Okey..lari tajuk..actually entry ni aku nak review sikit pasal filem MERONG MAHAWANGSA (sebot betol2 yer...). Next time plak cite pasal BRAIN (no hard feeling kay bree.. (nickname utk brain)). Harini aku dan semua hosmet berjaya melaksanakan plan kami iaitu utk menonton Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa. Tengok dkt OU. Kitorang amek tiket paling awal iaitu 12.30 tghari. time tu tak ramai orang lagi.. Rasa nye hall pun tak penuh sbb dlm first 4 or 5 lines depan mmg kosong betol.. Maybe damansara x banyak melayu ker..? erkkkk..~
Overall this film is very good.. worth watching... you will not end up frustrating (speaking omputih la pulak....sbb prince rome is very cute~ngee..) cuma end up rushing to the nearby toilet (because it was damn cold inside ok!) The CGI effect was good even though it was not as good as the foreign so-called-hollywood-movie. The storyline i might say very good. Lots of action and fighting here and there. And also there are few hilarious scenes that tickles our heart away. Me myself i do not know the actual history or myth of merong mahawangsa... you can google it yourself. Merong mahawangsa was said to be the founder of langkasuka (old name for Kedah i think) well, it has something to do with the foundation of Kedah. He was claimed as a descendant of Iskandar the great. But the truth remain unknown i suppose. That was only his claim. The story was written in malay literature by if i'm not mistaken, Phra Ong Mahawangsa the descendant of merong mahawangsa, the first ruler of Kedah who converted to islam and change his name to Sultan Muzafar Syah. He's the one who narrate the story throughout the movie.
This movie was about merong mahawangsa, he was asked to escort the prince of Rome (very cute and innocent looking) to the golden peninsular (merong claim he was from there,or at least his mother was) to be married to Princess of China. Both great empire, Rome and China wish to merge their empire to attain greater civilization by marrying off their children. They are marrying their children at a neutral land in according to the feng-shui (also,if i'm not mistaken). This neutral land (golden peninsular) is the land without ruler or king. There are two tribes fighting over this land. This is where Geruda the pirates originate. They came to the land once in a while. After both bride and bridegroom had arrived, they fall in love into each other..... but unfortunately they were attacked by geruda and the princess was kidnapped.. and then the story goes on saving the princess's life and redeem back the land's peace and dignity. Well i should not tell further as it will spoil the movie. But i highly recommend u guys to go watch this movie..i would give 9 out of 10 for this movie... (i'm not very fond of an epic movie tho) very classic and artistic (with the dresses and the ships - remind me of pirates of carribean- out in may 19th) i think this is the first time local production had ever produced such film. i'm very proud to be malaysian (patriotik la pulak kan....) hehe...
I think that's all for now...next time may be pegi tgk dgn my habibi... he is waiting for my review..c'mon be positive sometimes watching malay film can be worth it..especially for the light one..but this one is quiet heavy...
